DHAKA, March 18, 2026 (BSS) - Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is carrying out urgent official duties from his residence in Gulshan during the Eid-ul-Fitr holidays.
“Eid holidays began from Tuesday.
The prime minister is staying at his residence on Gulshan Avenue. From there, he is attending to urgent government matters and keeping track of ongoing activities across the country,” Prime Minister’s additional press secretary Atikur Rahman Ruman said.
According to him, the premier is inquiring about the status of canal excavation programmes nationwide—whether the work is progressing as planned.
He is also speaking with the concerned ministers to ensure proper monitoring.
Ruman said Tarique Rahman has spoken with the mayor and administrators of city corporations, urging them to maintain cleanliness.
He said the prime minister has discussed the situation of Eid travel with the relevant ministers and state ministers.
Although it was a public holiday on Tuesday, the Prime Minister attended office at the Secretariat.
He also chaired a cabinet meeting and a meeting of the Farmer Card Implementation Committee.
The Eid holiday will continue until March 23.
