DHAKA, Feb 24, 2026 (BSS) - Information and Broadcasting Minister Zahir Uddin Swapan today unveiled the cover of a book titled “Abisongbadito Tarique Rahman” at the seminar room of the National Theatre Hall of the Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy here.

The book, edited by Tarique Choyon, is a compilation of 19 essays written in 2013.

While speaking as the chief guest, the minister said Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has emerged as an undisputed leader of the people by successfully overcoming various adversities and challenges.

He said through his humanitarian values and steadfastness, Tarique Rahman has attained this position.

Swapan said Tarique Rahman earned this undisputed leadership through his works and he has proven this throughout his long political journey. 

As the successor to Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman and former three-time Prime Minister Khaleda Zia, he inherited these humanitarian qualities and values from his family background, he said.

Swapan said it has been possible due to his personal determination and humanitarian qualities that a human being could survive and endure so many ups and downs and adversities. 

He expressed confidence that Tarique Rahman would maintain public trust through those humanitarian values.

State Minister for Cultural Affairs Ali Newaz Mahmood Khyom attended the event as the special guest while eminent educationist Dr. Yusuf Haider, Director General of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy Rezauddin Ahmed Stalin, and Tarique Choyon, who edited the book, also spoke on the occasion.

The compilation titled “Abisongbadito Tarique Rahman” includes writings by 19 distinguished teachers, writers, thinkers, politicians, and freedom fighters of the country. 

The book contains detailed analyses of the Prime Minister’s political life, his philosophy, ideals, vision, and plans for state governance. The book has been published by Anannya Prokashoni.
