Milon declares tough stance against drugs, terrorism, eve-teasing

CHANDPUR, Feb 20, 2026 (BSS) - Education Minister ANM Ehsanul Hoque Milon today announced a strict stance against drugs, terrorism and eve-teasing in educational institutions, following the ongoing drive to eliminate copying.

He said the new initiatives will begin from Kachua upazila, where the anti-copying campaign has already shown positive results, and similar measures will be taken to ensure drug-free and violence-free campuses.

The minister made the remarks while replying to questions from journalists after an exchange meeting with officials at the Kachua Upazila Parishad auditorium.

ANM Ehsanul Hoque Milon said the journey to build a corruption-free Bangladesh will continue under the leadership of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, adding that the country will emerge as more prosperous and developed.

Earlier, Deputy Commissioner Md Nazmul Islam Sarkar, Superintendent of Police Rabiul Hasan and other senior officials welcomed the minister with flowers.

He also attended a meeting with members of the Hindu community and joined their religious and social programmes. Party leaders and activists greeted him on his first visit to his constituency Kachua after being appointed as education minister and elected as a member of parliament.
