SSC results published, average pass 93.58 pc

   DHAKA, Dec 30, 2021 (BSS) - The results of Secondary School Certificate 
(SSC) and equivalent examinations-2021 under 11 education boards were 
published today with 93.58 percent pass rate.

   "A total of 22,40,395 examinees appeared in the SSC and equivalent 
examinations this year. Of them, 20,96,546 students passed the examinations," 
Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni announced the results at a press briefing at 
Bangabandhu International Conference Center (BICC) here. 

   She said this year's SSC and equivalent examinations were held with short 
syllabus due to COVID-19 pandemic. The examinations were held in November as 
the pandemic has been brought under control, the minister added.

  "Despite COVID-19 pandemic, all key indicators of the SSC and equivalent 
examinations have improved because of sincere efforts of government, 
guardians and non-government actors," Dipu Moni added. 

   According to the announced results, a total of 1,83,340 students got the 
highest Grade Point Average (GPA-5) in the SSC and equivalent examinations 
which was 1,23,131 last year.

   Among the GPA-5 holders this year, 1,03,578 are female while 79,762 are 
male students.

   A total of 5,494 educational institutions achieved 100 percent pass rate 
in this year's SSC and equivalent examinations, while the number was 3,023 
last year.

   Of those, 233 institutions are from Dhaka, 398 from Rajshahi, 355 from 
Cumilla, 255 from Jashore, 54 from Chattogram, 90 from Barishal, 185 from 
Sylhet, 493 from Dinajpur, 316 from Mymensingh while 2,969 are under Madrasah 
Board and 148 under Bangladesh Technical Education Board (BTEB). 

   Students from 18 schools and madrasahs under two education boards out of 
11 boards failed to come out successful in this year's SSC and equivalent 
examinations. 

   According to the SSC results published today, the board-wise number of 
such institutions is two in Madrasah Education Board and 16 in Technical 
Education Board. 

   The number of schools and madrasahs with "zero results" was 104 last year. 

  The female students have outnumbered their male counterparts in terms of 
pass rate in this year's SSC or equivalent examinations.

   A total of 10,58,628 female students passed the examinations with 92.69 
percent success rate this year while the number of successful male students 
is 10,98,301 with 94.50 percent pass rate, according to the SSC results 
published here today.

   Among the GPA-5 holders this year, 1,03,578 are female while 79,762 are 
male students.
