DHAKA, Feb 10, 2026 (BSS) - The interim government has achieved 10 major milestones in land management with the goal of making land-related services simple, transparent and harassment-free for citizens.

Land Adviser Ali Imam Majumdar revealed the achievements while presenting a detailed report at a press conference held at the Secretariat today.

He said that through administrative reforms, the use of modern technology and the enactment of new laws over the past few months, land services have now reached the fingertips of the common people.

The press conference, organized at the Ministry of Food, was attended by Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Land ASM Saleh Ahmed and Food Secretary Md. Firoz Sarker.

According to the report, the government launched the 'land.gov.bd' platform in January 2025 to bring all land services under one umbrella.

Through the Land Service Gateway (LSG), citizens can now access mutation, land tax, maps and other services using a single login.

With the introduction of e-Mutation version 2.1, land holdings are now created automatically during land purchase and sale, effectively preventing fraud such as selling the same land multiple times.

Citizens now need to visit land offices only once for hearings.

The upgraded land tax system has introduced duplication checks and e-parcha verification, allowing citizens to view reasons for holding suspension directly from their profiles.

The preservation of Khatian history has simplified ownership verification, while the e-post home delivery system for Khatian has been further modernized.

To enhance transparency in officer transfers and inventory management, the land management system has been interconnected with the GEMS system of the Ministry of Public Administration.

Additionally, '889 support center' has been established nationwide to assist citizens in applying for services and paying fees online. This initiative, which began as a pilot on February 25, 2025, has now expanded across the country, excluding three hill districts.

An official land service mobile app, launched on November 24, 2025, now allows citizens to collect land development tax, DACR (GCR), Khatian and Mouza maps using smartphones.

With support from UNDP, a nationwide database error correction program has also been launched, starting in Feni and piloted in eight districts.

The government has also enacted six new laws and guidelines to prevent land-related crimes and protect agricultural land, including the "Land Use Control and Agricultural Land Protection Ordinance 2026" and the "Land Crime Prevention and Remediation Rules 2024".

Furthermore, lease document complexities have been resolved through digitized surveys under a memorandum of understanding with South Korea and the adoption of the "Pentograph Method" in RAJUK's Purbachal project.

The report highlighted that more than 5 lakh citizens received services through the Ministry of Land's call center 16122 in 2025, with the current citizen satisfaction rate exceeding 90 percent.
