Nationwide Bangabandhu and Swadhinata book fair from Dec 30 

  DHAKA, Dec 28, 2021 (BSS) -The four-day long 'Bangabandhu and Swadhinata' 
book fair will be held across the country including the capital from 
Thursday.

  Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's Birth Centenary 
Celebration National Implementation Committee in association with Cultural 
Affairs Ministry, Local Government Division of the LGRD Ministry and all 
district administrations will implement the fair marking the Mujib Borsho and 
the golden jubilee of independence.

  State Minister for Cultural Affairs KM Khalid formally disclosed this while 
addressing a press conference at the conference room of the Department of 
Public Libraries in city's Shahbagh area here this afternoon.

  The book fair will be held on the Department of Public Library premises in 
the capital and other divisional or district government public library 
premises across the country, he said. 

  A total of 70 publication houses from Dhaka district, 50 from divisional 
level and 30 others from district level will join the book fair.

  "The book fair will play a vital role in building an enlightened and 
knowledge-based cultural society and the new generation will be enriched with 
the true history of the nation through it (book fair)," the state minister 
told the function as chief guest.

  Chief Coordinator of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur 
Rahman's Birth Centenary Celebration National Implementation Committee Dr 
Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury, Cultural Affairs Secretary M Abul Monsur, 
Additional Secretary Ashim Kumar Dey and Director General of the Department 
of Public Libraries Abu Bakar Siddique, among others, attended the 
conference.

  Regarding the book fair, the chief coordinator of the national 
implementation committee said, "The book fair will help the young generation 
to acquire knowledge about the life and works of Bangabandhu."

  The fair will continue till January 2. The Cultural Affairs Ministry has 
sanctioned around Taka 3 lakh for each district across the country for 
holding the book fair.
