DHAKA, Jan 2, 2026 (BSS) - Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus called upon all participating countries and institutions at the Dhaka International Trade Fair (DITF) to work together in a spirit of mutual cooperation and partnership.
In a message issued on December 31 on the occasion of the 30th Dhaka International Trade Fair 2026, the chief adviser said the interim government remains firmly committed to safeguarding economic stability and fostering desired growth.
"This fair is a unique initiative that showcases Bangladesh's immense potential on the global stage," he said.
The month-long 30th DITF-2026 is set to begin tomorrow at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Exhibition Center in Purbachal. Commerce Adviser Sk Bashir Uddin is scheduled to inaugurate the fair at 10am.
The fair was originally scheduled to start on January 1 but was rescheduled to Saturday following the death of former prime minister and BNP chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia.
In his message, the chief adviser extended sincere greetings and felicitations to all participants, including domestic and foreign entrepreneurs, investors, traders and buyers.
Highlighting the importance of the DITF in promoting domestic products and expanding Bangladesh's exports, Prof Yunus said the fair also provides local entrepreneurs and consumers with valuable insights into the quality, design and global trends of foreign products.
He noted that the month-long fair has consistently served as an effective platform for showcasing high-quality locally manufactured products to domestic and international visitors, consumers, buyers and importers.
Against this backdrop, he said, the Dhaka International Trade Fair stands as an important instrument for advancing these goals.
The chief adviser expressed hope that the fair would contribute to expanding economic activities, creating employment opportunities and strengthening the country's export base.
"I further believe that by promoting local products, encouraging diversification and attracting foreign investment, the fair will play an important role in driving overall national development," he added.
Wishing the DITF 2026 every success, Prof Yunus expressed his expectation that the fair would emerge as a vibrant, buyer-friendly and festive event through the meaningful engagement of all stakeholders.
