Victim families want Hasina to be brought back to face justice

DHAKA, Nov 17, 2025 (BSS) - The International Crimes Tribunal-1 (ICT-1) is set to pronounce its judgment today in the crimes against humanity case against three accused - including ousted premier Sheikh Hasina - over their superior command responsibility for offences committed during the July Mass Uprising.

Marking the day, family members of the July martyrs and heroes those were injured and lost their limbs, came to the tribunal for watching today's proceedings in person. All of them demanded to bring the prime accused ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina back to country and make her to face the justice.

Mir Mahbubur Rahman Snigdho, brother of July hero and martyr Mir Mugdho, has demanded that ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina be brought back to the country and the tribunal's verdict against her be executed.

"For the crimes she committed, hanging her a thousand times would still not be enough," Snigdho said.

Jartaj Parveen, mother of July martyr Shafiq Uddin Ahmed Ahnaf, echoed the demand, saying it was essential to bring Hasina back from India and execute her in public "so that no dictator can ever reappear in the country."
