DHAKA, Oct 28, 2025 (BSS) –The National Consensus Commission (NCC) Vice-Chairman Professor Ali Riaz has said several recommendations have been made to establish a legal framework for implementing the constitutional issues.

“Our recommendation has three main parts. The first is that all issues the government can implement through ordinances, which are not related to constitutional matters, should be carried out immediately. The second is that many recommendations can be implemented through government or office orders, and the government should act on them without delay,” he said.

He made the remarks at a press briefing at the Foreign Service Academy in the capital today.

Professor Riaz emphasized that there is no disagreement among the political parties participating in the commission’s dialogue on these two points.

“Whenever, we reached a consensus through discussions…we have duly informed the government,” he added.

Professor Riaz further noted, “During discussions with political parties, we observed broad consensus on many constitutional issues, although differences remain on some. To provide a legal basis and clear pathway for implementing these constitutional matters, our third recommendation outlines several steps on how to move forward.”

Earlier today, the NCC formally handed over its recommendations for the implementation of the “July National Charter, 2025” to Chief Adviser of the Interim Government and Chairman of the NCC Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus at the State Guest House Jamuna.
