Training essential for employees' efficiency: senior land secretary

DHAKA, Sept 9, 2025 (BSS) - Land Ministry's Senior Secretary A S M Saleh Ahmed today said that training is essential in a professional career as it enhances employees' knowledge, work interest and efficiency in the workplace.

He made the remark at the inaugural ceremony of an internal training programme on "Creation, preservation and regularisation of posts and modernisation of organisational structure in the revenue sector" at the ministry's conference room, said a press release.

The senior secretary observed that training is crucial for both new and existing employees to keep pace with changing workplace requirements. 

It also helps understanding land-related laws, policies, and modern procedures improves service quality as well as ensuring transparency and accountability in land management, he said.

He added that training helps reduce errors, curb corruption and make citizen services faster and more accessible. Overall, he opined, training is indispensable for the development of land administration.

All administrative and personal officers of the ministry attended the training.

The senior secretary noted that as employees are responsible for policy-level supervision, it is essential for them to have knowledge and understanding of post creation, preservation, regularisation and organisational modernisation in the revenue sector.

Highlighting that the Ministry of Land is a key ministry with operations extending to the country's remotest areas, he said 38 thousand officers and staff are engaged in land-related work. 

"Training enhances employees' problem-solving abilities, benefiting both personal and professional life and contributes to overall institutional growth and national development," he noted.

Land Reform Board Chairman AZM Salauddin Nagri was also present. The event was conducted by Additional Secretary Nasrin Sultana, while Joint Secretary MM Arif Pasha presented keynote address.
