DHAKA, July 10, 2025 (BSS) – Bangladesh Inter-Education Board Controllers' Committee today announced results of this year’s Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations saying 68.45 percent of the students appeared have passed.
Bangladesh Inter-Education Board Controllers' Committee chief and Dhaka Education Board chairman Professor Dr Khandoker Ehsanul Kabir announced the results at a press conference at his office.
The 11 education boards including those oversee the madrasah education and technical education published the results of exams within their purview simultaneously at 2pm.
A total of 1,904,086 students appeared in the examinations under the country's nine general education boards, Bangladesh Madrasa Education Board and Bangladesh Technical Education Board.
A total of 1,303,426 students passed and of them 1,39,032 obtained GPA 5.
According to Kabir of the students who appeared in the exams 9,51,697 were males and 9,52,389 were females while their pass rates were 65.88 and 71.03 percent.
The number of male students to secure GPA 5 is 65,416 students while among the females 73,616 obtained the same rating.
This year, 427 expatriate candidates took part in the exams from 8 foreign centers and 373 of them passed suggesting the pass rate to be 87.35 percent.
Out of 1,479,310 candidates in 9 general education boards, 10,06,554 have passed.
The pass rate is 68.4 percent. In these 9 boards, 1,25,018 candidates have obtained GPA 5.
This year, 1,95,115 candidates have passed in the Madrasa Education Board. The pass rate is 68.09 percent. In this board, 9,066 students have obtained GPA 5.
Out of 138,204 candidates, 1,1757 have passed from the Technical Education Board.
The pass rate is 73.63 percent. 4,948 students in this board have obtained GPA 5.
This year, the pass rate in Dhaka Board is 67.51 percent, 77.63 percent in Rajshahi Board, 63.60 in Cumilla Board, 73.69 in Jashore Board, 72.07 Chattogram Board, 56.38 in Barisal Board, 68.57 in Sylhet Board, 67.03 in Dinajpur Board, 58.22 in Mymensingh Board, 68.09 in the pass rate of Madrasa Education Board and 73.63 in Technical Education Board.
The pass rate in 984 educational institutions is 100 percent.
This year's SSC and equivalent examinations began on April 10 and continued until May 15, 2025.
