PANCHAGAR, June 9, 2025 (BSS)- Sarjis Alam, principal organizer (northern region) of the National Citizens Party (NCP) has said his party has no objection for next general election in April next year if the reforms are visible before the polls.

“We have no objection to hold the election in April if we can see the trial and basic reforms in judiciary, law enforcing agencies and Election Commission are visible by this time,” he said.

Sarjis Alam said this while talking to the journalists at Chowrangi crossing here today.

In the past, he said, we have seen the misuse of power and black money during the election period. We want a level planning field ahead of the polls.

We hope that all political parties either small or big will get equal opportunities and be allowed to take part in the election with their full capacity, Sarjis Alam added.

The NCP leader said power should be misused to make victim anybody. We don’t want to see any more capturing of polling centre and looting of ballot papers in future, he said.

The interim government must show professionalism through necessary reforms in the law enforcing agencies, Election Commission and the judiciary, he added.
Principal Organizer of NCP (south region) Hasnat Abdullah and coordinator of Panchagar Sadar Upazila Tanbirul Bari Nayon were present.

Earlier, Sarjis Alam along with Hasnat Abdullah exchanged Eid greetings with party leaders and workers.
