DHAKA, June 6, 2025 (BSS) – Chief Adviser Professor Yunus today stressed taking proper steps to ensure fair price of rawhide of sacrificial animals so that poor people get benefited from it.

“The income earned of the rawhides of sacrificial animals benefits my and your poor relatives, the marginalised community and thousands of madrasa students of the country,” he said while delivering his telecasted speech before the nation on the occasion of the Holy Eid-ul-Azha.

“We need to pay attention to ensuring that our poor relatives and neighbours get their rights properly. Only then it will be a festival for all - the rich and the poor,” he added.

The Chief Adviser mentioned that a high-level government committee is working to ensure fair price of rawhide of sacrificial animals and waste management, and a control room has also been opened on Eid-ul-Azha.

Any problems, complaints and suggestions related to the rawhide of sacrificial animals can be submitted through hotline number, he said.

“This year, we have provided 30,000 tonnes of salt free of cost to preserve the rawhides of sacrificial animals,” Prof Yunus said.

Another important issue on Eid-ul-Azha is cleanliness, he said, urging all to come forward together to keep the environment clean during the Eid.

“I am especially drawing the attention of the youth in this regard,” he added.

In his address, he extended his heartfelt greetings and congratulations to everyone who performed the holy Hajj this year.

“With the infinite mercy of the Almighty, your prayers and the utmost sincerity and professionalism of all concerned, our Hajj management has been successful this year. For the first time, the overall management and services of Hajj are being ensured through the 'Labbaik' app under government management,” he said.

So far, the Chief Adviser said, no irregularities have been reported in the Hajj management.

No one has had to cry for not being able to go to Hajj even by paying money and no Hajji has had to stage protest at the Hajj camp or airport, he said.

For the first time, Prof Yunus said, none has been sent to Hajj with the public money.

At the onset of his speech, he also greeted the countrymen on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha.
