 COX’S BAZAR, May 22, 2025 (BSS) – Chief Adviser’s Deputy Press Secretary Abul Kalam Azad Majumder today said there is no reason to be worried for the people living in Cox’s Bazar bordering area as the interim government has not taken any decision on the humanitarian corridor with Myanmar.

He made the remarks while addressing a workshop, arranged for journalists, here this afternoon.

Azad said local journalists in Cox’s Bazar face various challenges while collecting news.

The journalists gather news on various issues, including the Rohingya, drug and human trafficking, he said, observing that they have to face various challenges in collecting news, especially in the Myanmar-India border areas.

The daylong workshop was held at Hotel Seagull in Laboni Point in Cox’s Bazar beach town.

Cox's Bazar Press Club arranged the workshop in collaboration with NGO Friendship.

Additional Refugee Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner Shamsuddouja Nayan spoke at the workshop as the chief guest while Cox’s Bazar Press Club President Mahabubur Rahman inaugurated it.

Head of Communication of NGO Friendship Tanzila Sharmin, Cox's Bazar PBI Police Superintendent Matiur Rahman, Head of News of Boishakhi TV Ziaul Kabir Sumon, Dr Shahnur of Friendship also spoke as trainers, among others.

The workshop focused on natural disasters and challenges in the coastal areas and factchecking, journalism in marginal and border areas.

About 50 local journalists participated in the training workshop.
