DHAKA, May 16, 2025 (BSS)- Information and Broadcasting adviser Mahfuj Alam has extended a personal invitation to Mohammad Hossain, the youth accused of assaulting him during Jagannath University recent protests, to visit at his residence after the movement ends. 

The invitation was followed by a meeting at the Detective Branch (DB) office, where the adviser met with Hossain and his family following his release after primary interrogation, according to the adviser’s Facebook posted this evening.

“Mohammad Hossain, who attacked the Information Adviser, has been released after primary interrogation. The Information Adviser spoke with him and his family at the DB office,” read the post.

Hossain, who was detained by police on charge of throwing a water bottle at the adviser in public, was handed over to his guardians after the adviser formally requested the home ministry for his release.

Referring to the education adviser, Mahfuj Alam also wrote in the Facebook post that the government will announce a clear roadmap to resolve the issues at Jagannath University.
 
He expressed hope that the accommodation crisis faced by Jagannath University students will be resolved swiftly.
