BNP is patron of communal forces: Quader
DHAKA, Oct 27, 2021 (BSS) – Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader today said the communal forces are hatching plots to carry out bomb attacks ahead of the national election and the BNP is the patron of the forces.
He made the remark while speaking at a discussion titled ‘The role of Sheikh Hasina in development of industry and commerce amid the coronavirus crisis’ at Sonargaon Hotel here.
The AL sub-committee on industry and commerce arranged the discussion.
Quader, also the road transport and bridges minister, said those, who failed in elections and movement, have started communal attacks ahead of the next general elections.
Mentioning that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has taken firm stance against the people involved in attacks on Puja mandaps and houses of Hindu people, he said the BNP is the patron of the communal forces.
“Those who carried out attacks on Puja mandaps and houses of Hindus would not be spared and they would be brought to justice,” the AL general secretary said.
About the businessmen’s involvement in politics, he said doing politics by a businessman is not a fault at all but politics should not be used as a tool for business.
Quader said the country is moving towards the path of development under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and many people from both home and abroad are hatching intrigues against this development.
“To continue trade and business, you (businessmen) must prevent the plots of the communal forces, otherwise you cannot do business here. So, we all must be united. The communal forces are the enemies of the country and nation as well,” he said.
Highlighting the progress of different mega projects taken by the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina government, the road transport and bridges minister said the initiatives of the AL government in addressing the COVID-19 pandemic are highly lauded around the world.
He said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has kept the wheel of economy moving by maintaining the balance in lives and livelihoods of people amid the COVID-19 crisis, which was acclaimed around the world.
Quader said Padma Bridge will be opened for vehicular movement before June 2022 and the premier would inaugurate it. Four mega projects will be inaugurated next year, he added.
