Sheikh Hasina's development beats fairytale: Hasan

CHATTOGRAM, Dec 26, 2023 (BSS) - Information and Broadcasting Minister and Awami League Joint General Secretary Dr Hasan Mahmud today said an unprecedented development, beating the fairytale, has taken place across the country under Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

"The scenario of the country has been changed drastically. Last time we gave the slogan that 'our village our town'. And now every village has turned into a town," he told a rally on Ranguniya Club Field in Ranguniya upazila of the district.

AL Ranguniya Municipality, Mariamnagar, Chadraghona Kadamtali and Swanirbhor Ranguniya unions units organised the rally with AL Ranguniya Municipality unit president Ariful Islam Chowdhury in the chair.

Dr Hasan said the government has provided one kilogram of rice at Taka 15, 30 KGs rice at Taka 200, rice with free of cost and fair price cards. The government has provided 18 types of allocations including allocations for the aged people, widows, persons with disabilities, freedom fighters and allocations for maternity to distressed women, he added.

The information minister said earlier there were carpeting roads in town, but now all streets of villages have been made carpeting. It was only possible for Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's magical leadership, he added.

"The voters of the country are now election oriented and a festive mood has been prevailing across the country centering the poll. In fact, it is a slap to those persons who are boycotting the election," he said.

Dr Hasan said, "I've always tried to stay beside the people of my area. I've also visited Chattogram and my constituency in Ranguniya in every week along with performing my responsibilities as a minister and party as well".

Seeking cooperation of all to continue the progress under the AL government, Hasan Mahmud said, "I've tried to be a lawmaker irrespective of all party and opinion. My door has been opened for all over the last 15 years".

He said the country moves ahead under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina whether anyone admits it or not.

Hasan Mahmud has said his constituency Ranguniya has witnessed massive development works after he was elected as parliament member from the area. "You have elected me as a Member of Parliament. I have always tried to stand beside you and want to do my best for the welfare of all. Even, I helped the youths to get jobs who campaigned against me," he said.

Earlier in the Pomra union, during the campaign, Dr Hasan, who is also a candidate of Chattogram-7 constituency, urged all to vote for 'Boat' the electoral symbol of Awami League.

The ruling party leader hoped that Awami League would get a landslide victory in the next general election slated for January 7.

AL leaders Swajan Kumar Talukder, Gias Uddin Khan Swapan, Shamsuddoha Sikdar Arzu, Badiul Khayer Litan Chowdhury, Mujibul Haque Hiru, Md Nur Ullah, Ayub Rana, Nasir Uddin Riaz, Shaibal Chakkrabarty, Md Harun Showdagar, Mohammad Kamal Uddin, Bhaskar Saha, Morshed Talukder, Sirazul Islam and Delowar Hossain, among others, addressed those rallies.
