Bangladesh-India FS level talk is routine meeting: Momen
DHAKA, Nov 20, 2023 (BSS) - Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen today said the upcoming foreign secretary level talk between Bangladesh and India is a routine meeting, no political issue is on agenda.
"There will be no discussion about politics there," he told reporters at the foreign ministry.
The foreign minister made the remarks when a journalist wanted to know whether political and upcoming elections will be discussed in the upcoming foreign secretary level meeting to be held in New Delhi.
"We do FOC (Foreign Office Consultations) with many countries. It is a routine matter," Momen said.
The Foreign Minister said various bilateral issues related to mutual interest of the two friendly neighbours will be discussed at the meeting.
In the Foreign Office Consultations, the two countries usually discuss all the major issues of mutual interests to promote cooperation encompassing all sectors.
Foreign Secretary Masud Bin Momen is scheduled to visit India on November 23 or 24 to hold a regular bilateral talk with his Indian counterpart Vinay Mohan Kwatra.
This is the second foreign secretary-level meeting between the two countries this year.
The first one was held in February in Dhaka.
