DHAKA, Sept 21, 2023 (BSS) - Singapore government will upgrade its consulate in Dhaka to High Commission, Singaporean foreign minister Vivian Balakrishnan has said.
 
Balakrishnan made this assurance at a bilateral meeting with his Bangladesh counterpart DR AK Abdul Momen held on Wednesday on the sideline of the 78th UN General Assembly in New York, according to a foreign ministry press release received here today.
 
Welcoming the Singapore government decision's to establish a full mission in Dhaka, Bangladesh foreign minister said this step would be beneficial for both the countries.
 
During the meeting, the two foreign ministers discussed various matters related to mutual interest and bilateral issues.
 
Dr Momen urged the Singaporean government to make further investment in Bangladesh especially at the country's special economic zones.
 
The two ministers also discussed various aspects to increase trade and commerce ties between Bangladesh and Singapore.
