DHAKA, Sept 10, 2023 (BSS) - Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal today said additional deputy commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police Harun-or-Rashid will be punished for his injustice role of brutally beating of two Central Chhatra League leaders at Shahbag police station.

"Whoever did this, is it police or whoever, he should be punished for wrongdoing. Why did it, what did it do, we will ask. He must be held accountable for his wrongdoing," he said this to journalists while replying to a query after inaugurating Regional Passport Office, Dhaka East (Aftabnagar) here.

 Harun or Rashid took two central leaders of Bangladesh Chhatra League to Shahbag police station and brutally beat them on Saturday.

Replying to another question about previous allegations against ADC Harun of beating people, the minister said, "Yesterday's incident is the first significant one, we have to see it." We are working on it. He will be punished according to his wrong he did."

Meanwhile, the DMP commissioner Khandkar Golam Faruq issued an order today and attached ADC Harun with the Public Order Management (POM) east.
