BARISHAL, June 12, 2023 (BSS)- Awami League candidate Abul Khayer Abdullah has been elected mayor unofficially in the Barishal City Corporations (BCC) elections.

He defeated his closest rival Islami Andolon candidate Syed Faizul Karim by 53, 980 votes.

Returning Officer Md Humayun Kabir announced the unofficial results tonight at election results collection and announcement center at Barishal Shilpakala Academy.

Abul Khayer Abdullah bagged 87,808 votes with boat symbol while his closest rival Faizul Karim got 33,828 votes.

Independent candidate Kamrul Ahsan secured 7,999 votes.
