DHAKA, May 23, 2023 (BSS) - Rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind is likely to occur at many places over the country, said a met office forecast for the next 24 hours commencing 9am today.

"Rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind is likely to occur at many places over Rajshahi, Rangpur, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and at a few places over Khulna and Barishal divisions with hails at isolated places over the country," according to the forecast.

Trough of low lies over West Bengal and adjoining area.

 Mild heat wave is sweeping over Khulna division and the districts of Madaripur and Pabna and it may abate from some places.

 Day and Night temperature may fall slightly over the country.

Country's maximum temperature on Monday was recorded by 36.8 degree Celsius at Jashore and minimum temperature today was recorded by 24.0 degree Celsius jointly at Nilkli and Rajarhat.
