DHAKA, Feb 6, 2023 (BSS) - President M Abdul Hamid today expressed deep shock and sorrow at the loss of lives and damage of properties in the terrible earthquake in Turkey and Syria.
 
In a condolence message, the Head of State prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed profound sympathy to the bereaved families.
  
The President offered all possible assistance from the Government and people of Bangladesh, saying, “Bangladesh Government and its people are always by the side of the disaster victims of Turkey and Syria.”
  
A strong earthquake of magnitude 7.8 struck central Turkey and northwest Syria, killing many people as buildings and establishments collapsed across the snowy region.
  
Abdul Hamid wished early recovery of the injured.
