Moslem Uddin is an example of steadfastness in leadership: Hasan

DHAKA, Feb 6, 2023 (BSS)- Paying glowing tribute to late Awami League lawmaker Moslem Uddin Ahmed, Information and Broadcasting Minister and Awami League Joint General Secretary Dr Hasan Mahmud today said he is an example of steadfastness to the leader who became leader from an activist.
 
"After the 1/11 changeover, Moslem Uddin was one of those leaders, who stood beside Jananethri Sheikh Hasina," he told reporters after attending the Namaz-e-Janaza of the late lawmaker of Chattogram-8 constituencies in front of Awami League (AL) office at Bangabandhu Avenue in the capital.
 
Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader, Presidium Member Engineer Mosharraf Hossain, MP, Shamsul Haque Chowdhury, MP, ABM Fazle Karim Chowdhury, MP, AL Relief and Social Welfare Secretary Aminul Islam Amin and Office Secretary Barrister Biplob Barua, among others, took part in the janaza.
 
Hasan said there are a lot of aspects which we can learn from Moslem Uddin as he was a dedicated activist of the party and a valiant Freedom Fighter. He and ABM Mohiuddin Chowdhury were caught by Pakistani occupation forces and later got released by acting mad, he added.
 
He said Moslem Uddin was president of the Chhatra League of Chattogram unit and later he was elected president of the Jubo League. He was also general secretary of the AL Chattogram South unit for long two decades and later he was elected president of AL of the unit, said the ruling party leader.
 
Hasan prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to bereaved family members.
 
Valiant freedom fighter, a lawmaker of Chattogram-8 constituencies and Chattogram south district Awami League (AL) president Moslem Uddin passed away at a hospital in the capital early today at the age of 75.
 
He is survived by his wife, four daughters, a host of relatives, friends, well-wishers and political fellows.
 
He was elected Vice President of Chattogram Government Commerce College in 1969 and participated in the Great Liberation War responding to the call of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
