Former Khulna Newsprint Mills MD Anwar passes away


  
DHAKA, Feb 4, 2023 (BSS) - Anwar Hossain, former Managing Director (MD) of Khulna Newsprint Mills and father of Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS) Special Correspondent Tanzim Anwar, passed away while undergoing treatment at a city hospital in the early hours of today. 
 
He breathed his last at 1:30am at Dhanmondi Popular Hospital at the age of 78, family sources said. 
 
Anwar left behind his wife, two sons, a daughter and a host of relatives and admirers to mourn his death. 
 
He also served as managing director of Khulna Hardboard Mills, Karnaphuli Rayon and Chemicals Limited and Pakshi Paper Mills. 
 
Anwar had been suffering from different old-age complications for a long time. 
 
His first namaj-e-janaza was held at Sobhanbagh Mosque in the city after Zohr prayer today.
 
He will be laid to eternal rest at the family graveyard following his second namaj-e-janaza at his ancestral village Dorillah of Nandail upazila in Mymensigh district after Zohr prayer tomorrow. 
 
Tanzim requested everyone to pray for eternal peace of the departed soul of his father. 

Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS) Managing Director and Chief Editor Abul Kalam Azad expressed deep shock at the death of Anwar Hossain.

In a condolence message, he prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed profound sympathy to the bereaved family.

National Press Club (JPC), Dhaka Reporters' Unity (DRU), Aviation and Tourism Journalists' Forum of Bangladesh (ATJFB) and Diplomatic Correspondent Association, Bangladesh (DCAB) today expressed profound shock and sorrow at the death of Anwar Hossain. 
 
In separate condolence messages, leaders of the organizations prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family.
