CHANDPUR,  Feb 4 , 2026 (BSS) – Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami candidate for Chandpur-4 (Faridganj) constituency, Md. Billal Hossain Miyaji is pledge-bound to work for public security, employment generation, and improving healthcare services.

“If elected, I will work to ensure the security of life and property, create employment for the unemployed, develop the education system, strengthen the social structure, and improve fisheries, agriculture, and healthcare services,” he said.

Billal Hossain highlighted these commitments in an exclusive interview with Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha’s (BSS) Chandpur district correspondent Abdus Salam Azad Jewel ahead of the 13th national election.

Billal Hossain is currently the Ameer of Chandpur District Jamaat-e-Islami. He has been involved in Jamaat politics for nearly four decades and is a teacher by profession.

While asked about his election promises for the voters of Faridganj, he said: “For a long time, people have expected to enjoy their fundamental rights, but they have been deprived. After the fall of fascism on August 5, 2024, through many movements and struggles, new hopes have emerged.

We are conducting our election activities with the aim of ensuring that people can live free and dignified lives.”

He added, “If elected, we will protect the lives, property, and dignity of the people. We will strive to keep the prices of daily essentials low, create a strong educational environment, and establish good institutions. Employment opportunities will be created so that people can earn a living with dignity.”

Regarding his instructions to leaders and activists on the election code of conduct, Billal Hossain: “As responsible citizens, we must follow government instructions.

In line with those instructions, I have removed all election billboards, festoons, and signboards in Faridganj.”

He said, “I have directed my leaders, activists, and supporters to comply fully with the election code of conduct. Our campaign is being conducted with the aim of ensuring no disruption to election laws.”

Replying the query on his position on the referendum on the July Charter, Billal Hossain Miyaji said: “My position on the July Charter referendum is absolutely clear. Jamaat-e-Islami is campaigning vigorously on this issue.”

Mentioning that a centrally printed leaflet has been distributed to them, he said, they are delivering it to the people. “To ensure a ‘yes’ vote, we have printed 100,000 leaflets locally and are campaigning extensively. In all our activities, we are urging the people to vote ‘yes’ in the referendum.”

When BSS wanted to know about his expectations for the upcoming parliamentary elections, Billal Hossain said: “Expectations are very high for this election. When people grew weary of long-standing fascism, they rose in resistance, and fascism was ultimately expelled through the strong movement of students and the public.”

“Now people want to see a new Bangladesh, the one without discrimination, oppression, extortion, terrorism, or occupation,” he said, hoping the people will deliver their verdict for a new Bangladesh with a new face, InshAllah.

“If elected, I will work for the overall development of Faridganj,” he added.
