BEIJING, Aug 30, 2022 (BSS/AFP) - The Chinese Communist Party will open its 
20th Party Congress on October 16 in Beijing, state broadcaster CCTV reported 
Tuesday, citing a meeting of the party's Politburo, the country's top 
decision-making body.

The momentous political event, which takes place every five years, will 
likely see Xi Jinping reinstated as president for a third term and a new top 
leadership line-up unveiled.
