MEXICO CITY, Aug 23, 2026 (BSS/AFP) - The governor of the Mexican state of Sinaloa, who is wanted by the United States on drug trafficking charges, announced Saturday he was stepping down from his job again, one day after he made an unexpected return to office.
Ruben Rocha Moya, an ally of leftist President Claudia Sheinbaum, shared a document on X asking the Sinaloa state congress to authorize "a temporary leave of absence of indefinite duration, exceeding 30 days."
