CORK, Ireland, July 3, 2026 (BSS/AFP) - EU chief Ursula von der Leyen on Friday said there was "still quite a lot of work to do" to resolve issues with a new border check system blamed for severely disrupting European air travel.

She said the European Commission was working with member states to tackle technical problems linked to the EU's new Entry/Exit System, after airports and airlines urged Brussels to prevent summer travel chaos for millions.
