KYIV, Ukraine, 02 July, 2026 (BSS/AFP) - The death toll from a Russian barrage on Kyiv rose to eight, authorities said on Thursday, after a wave of missiles and drones struck the capital city.
The head of Kyiv's military administration Tymur Tkachenko said in a post on Telegram that "the death toll from the Russian attack has risen to 8" and slammed the deliberate targeting of residential areas and civilians.
Images released by the Ukrainian emergency services after the attacks showed extensive damage to a residential block, with a large portion of one building missing as firefighters attempted to douse flames.
