PROVIDENCE, United States, Dec 14, 2025 (BSS/AFP) - United States police "detained a person of interest" on Sunday in relation to a shooting at Brown University that killed two people and wounded nine others, Providence Mayor Brett Smiley said.

Speaking alongside the mayor at a news conference, Police Colonel Oscar Perez said the person was detained "earlier this morning" and law enforcement officers are "not at this point" looking for anyone else in relation to the attack.
