HONG KONG, Nov 27, 2025 (BSS/AFP) - Hong Kong authorities arrested three men on suspicion of manslaughter in a fire that engulfed a high-rise complex and killed at least 36 people, police said early Thursday.
Police announced the arrests in a one-sentence advisory that did not specify exactly what the detainees were accused of doing, and promised a press conference for later.
A police officer also confirmed the arrests to AFP, after one of Hong Kong's deadliest fires in decades on Wednesday engulfed a 2,000-unit high-rise complex.
