RANGPUR, Dec 8, 2022 (BSS) - Poets and writers of Rangpur formed a human chain in the city today protesting the terrorist attack on poet and Editor of the Little Magazine "Shabda" Saroj Dev and demanded speedy trial of the culprits.

 
President of Rangpur Divisional Lekhok Parishad Kazi Md. Joonnun presided over the event organised under the banner of 'Sommilito Lekhok Samaj, Rangpur' in front of the Town Hall on the Public Library premises.
 
A large number of poets, writers, and sociocultural and literary activists participated in the human chain.
 
General Secretary of 'Chhora Sangsad, Rangpur' poet Rezaul Karim Jiban delivered the welcome speech while General Secretary of Rangpur Divisional Lekhok Parishad Zakir Ahmed moderated the event.

President of 'Rangpur Sahitya-Sangskritik Parishad' Hasna Hena Begum Rosy, President of 'Abhijatrik' Rana Masud, President of 'Geeti Kobi Sangshad, Rangpur SM Khalil Babu, General Secretary of 'Chhandosik' Sohanur Rahman Shahin, General Secretary of 'Progoiti Sahitya Sangathan' ATM Morshed, Vice-president of Rangpur unit of 'Jatiya Kobita Parishad' Mousumi Sankar Wrota, General Secretary of 'Fire Dekha' Shakil Mahmud, President of 'Safollo Sahitya Paribar' Nasrine Naz and poet ASM Habibur Rahman took part in the human chain.

Strongly condemning the terrorist attack on poet and Editor Saroj Dev, the speakers demanded his complete safety, immediate arrest of all criminals involved in the attack and their speedy trial.

They said Saroj Dev was at home in Gaibandha district town on December 2 last when some terrorists attacked and injured him.
