JOYPURHAT, Nov 29, 2022 (BSS) - A day-long free eye camp for the poor was held in Bhadsa Union under Sadar upazila of the district today.

'Jakas Foundation', a local non-governmental development organization, organised the eye camp in collaboration with the Palli Karma Sahaok Foundation at Durgadah Bazar of Bhadsa Union of the upazila.

Deputy Executive Director of Zakas Foundation Md. Abul Bashar inaugurated the free eye camp as the chief guest with Director (Programme) of the organization Md. Rafiqul Islam Badsha in the chair.

Assistant Regional Manager Amirul Islam and Program Officer Noor Alam Sabuj, among others, were present on the occasion.

The speakers said that the government is to deliver health care to the people at the grassroots.

Over 200 patients were provided with health care and medicines along with 45 cataract surgery facilities including eye examinations, prescriptions and other facilities are provided in eye camps free of cost, Md. Nurul Amin, Executive Director of Zakas Foundation said.
