JAMALPUR, Nov 3, 2022 (BSS) - Jail Killing Day was observed in the district in a befitting manner today.

On November 3 in 1975, four national leaders and heroes of the country's Liberation War -- Syed Nazrul Islam, Tajuddin Ahmad, Captain Mansur Ali and AHM Quamruzzaman-- were assassinated inside the Dhaka Central Jail.

District Awami League took out various programmes including hoisting flags, placing floral wreaths and discussion meeting to mark the day.

 The Awami League hoisted national, party and black flags at half-mast on the party office premises in Bakultola area in the town.

It was followed by paying homage by placing wreaths at the portrait of Bangabandhu and four leaders.

President of District Awami League and Chairman of Jamalpur Zilla Parishad Advocate Mohammad Baki Billah led the programme.

Leaders and workers of AL and its front organizations, among others, were present on the occasion.
