CHATTOGRAM, Oct 31, 2022 (BSS) - Elderly journalist S M Atiqur Rahman was laid to eternal rest at his family graveyard at East Veola village under Chokoria upazila of Cox's Bazaar district after Magrib prayers today.
Atiqur Rahman, a permanent member of Chattogram Press Club (CPC), died of various health complexities at a private hospital in Dhaka last night at the age of 70.
His body was taken to the CPC premises this afternoon where journalists of all strata, particularly CPC members, paid homage by placing wreaths on his coffin.
His first Namaz-e-Janaza was held in front of CPC at 2pm.
He left behind his wife, two sons, a daughter, large number of professional colleagues and relatives to mourn his death.
Atiqur Rahman was a founder Editor of Daily Sattyobani.
In a press release, Alhaj Ali Abbas and Farid Uddin Chowdhury President and General Secretary respectively of CPC condoled the death of Atiqur Rahman.
They also prayed for peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the members of the bereaved family.
