RANGPUR, Sept 22, 2022 (BSS) - Seven fresh Covid-19 cases, highest number since August 2 last, were diagnosed after testing 25 samples at the 28 percent positivity rate in Rangpur division on Wednesday.
 
Health officials said the number of diagnosed fresh Covid-19 cases is showing a rising trend in recent days in the division where the pandemic situation was improving during the last two months.
 
"With the diagnosis of the seven fresh cases, the number of Covid-19 patients rose to 64,836 in the division," Divisional Director (Health) Dr. Abu Md. Zakirul Islam told BSS today.
 
The total number of recovered Covid-19 patients remained steady at 63,232 as no more patients healed during the last 24 hours ending at 8 am today.
 
The number of casualties also remained steady at 1,289 as no new death was reported during the period.  
 
Meanwhile, more 8,017 doses of Covid-19 jabs were administered on Wednesday raising the number of inoculated vaccines to three crore 12 lakh 39 thousand and 242 doses in the division.
 
"Among the total administered Covid-19 jabs, 1,36,54,217 doses were inoculated as the first doses, 1,30,49,965 as the second doses and 45,35,060 as the booster doses," Dr. Islam said.
