BENAPOLE, Sept 7, 2022 (BSS) - Members of Boarder Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in a
drive arrested two alleged smugglers with 10 pieces of gold bars from
Putkhali frontier under Benapole Port Thana in Jashore district this noon.

The detainees were identified as Habibur Rahman and Akterul Islam. Both are
the residents of Benapole Port Thana.

Commander of the BGB-21 Lieutenant Colonel Tanveer Rahman said, on
information, a team of the BGB conducted a raid in the area and nabbed
Habibur and Akterul with the gold bars weighing around 1.17 kilograms.

Later, the arrested persons and the seized goods were handed over to the
Benapole Port Thana police, he added.
