HABIGANJ, Sept 5, 2022 (BSS)- A truck driver and his helper were killed in a
head-on collision between two trucks in Haritala area on the Dhaka-Sylhet
highway under Madhabpur upazila of the district this afternoon.

The deceased were identified as truck driver Rubel Hossain, 35, son of Abul
Kasem, resident of Sharsha upazila in Jashore district and his helper Ahad
Ali, 27, son of Sabar Ali, resident of Jhikargachha upazila in Jashore
district.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Shaistaganj Highway Police Station Salauddin Ahmed
said the accident occurred when a Dhaka-bound sand-laden truck and a chicken
feed-laden truck, coming from opposite direction, collided head-on in the
area around 1.30 pm, leaving the sand-laden truck driver and helper dead on
the spot.

The bodies were sent to Habiganj 250-bed Adhunik Zila Sadar Hospital, the OC
added.
