CHATTOGRAM, Aug 18, 2022 (BSS)- Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested son Mainuddin Mohammad Mainu in connection with the killing of his mother Jasmine Akhter in Patiya upazila of the district today.

RAB-7 senior assistant director Md. Nurul Abser confirmed this information to BSS and said that Mainu detained along with the weapon used in the killing to his murder.

Jasmine Akter, wife of former Patiya Municipality mayor Shamsul Alam Master and also former President of Chattogram south district Jatiya Party, was shot dead by her son Mainuddin over money related issues at Patiya Municipality on Tuesday.

Sister Shayla Sharmin Nipa filed a case with Patiya thana against her brother on Tuesday night.
