TANGAIL, Aug 16, 2022 (BSS) - Two elderly people were killed and three others
injured as a CNG-run auto-rickshaw hit a parking truck in Ghatail upazila of
the district early today.
 
The deceased were identified as Shahjahan, 65, hailed from Kashtola village
and Nepal Chandra Saha, an inhabitant of Hamidpur Sahapara area in the
upazila.
 
Sub-Inspector of Ghatail Thana Monirul Islam said the accident occurred at
around 4:30 am in the Brahmanshashon area on the Tangail-Mymensingh Regional
Road. CNG passengers - Shajahan and Nepal Chandra died on the spot. The
injured people were admitted to Tangail General Hospital.
 
Meanwhile, a bus plunged into a ditch near Shakrail Sholakura Bridge under
Kalihati Upazila this morning, injuring 17 people.
