RANGPUR, Aug 11, 2022 (BSS) - Two fresh Covid-19 cases were diagnosed after testing 45 new samples at the positivity rate of 4.44 percent in the division on Wednesday.
 
Health officials said the Covid-19 pandemic situation is showing an improving trend with a decreasing number of infected patients almost daily recently.
 
"With the diagnosis of the two fresh cases, the total number of Covid-19 patients rose to 64,871 here," Divisional Director (Health) Dr. Abu Md. Zakirul Islam told BSS today.
 
The total number of recovered Covid-19 patients rose to 63,092 as 18 more patients healed during the last 24 hours ending at 8 am today.
 
The number of casualties also remained steady at 1,289 as no new death was reported during the period.   
 
Meanwhile, more 16,611 doses of Covid-19 jabs were administered on Wednesday raising the number of inoculated vaccines to three crore eight lakh 44 thousand and 95 doses in the division.
 
"Among the total administered Covid-19 jabs, 1,35,72,258 doses were inoculated as the first doses, 1,29,91,400 as the second doses and 42,80,437 as the booster doses," Dr. Islam added.
