JOYPURHAT, August 3, 2022 (BSS) - A team of a mobile court, in a drive, here
today realized Taka 77,000 as fine for selling Urea fertilizer at a higher
price from five fertilizer traders in different areas of Akkelpur upazila of
the district this morning.

Sources concerned said the team led by Akkelpur Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO)
and Executive Magistrate SM Habibul Hasan conducted the drive.

The fertilizer traders are Aslam Hossain and Abu Kalam of Chandandighi Bazar
who were fined Taka 30 thousand and Taka 10 thousand respectively, and Akram
Hossain of Mohanpur Bazar, fined Taka two thousand, Mehedi Hasan fined Taka
30 thousand and Atwar Rahman of Tilakpur Bazar, fined Taka five thousand.

The fertilizer traders were fined for selling Urea fertilizer at a higher
price and stocking those illegally violating the Consumer Rights Protection
Act-2009.

"Members of the law enforcement agencies assisted the operation team while
conducting the drive," the UNO said, adding that the drive will continue
against all illegal activities.
