CHAPAINAWABGANJ, July 27, 2021 (BSS) - One more person died of Covid-19 and 19 were infected during the last 24 hours till this morning, raising the total deaths to 137 and infections to 4817 in the district.

The new fatality has been reported from Shibganj upazila.

The total fatalities included 93 persons of Chapainawabganj sadar, 28 of Shibganj, nine of Gomostapur, five of Nachole and two of Bholahat upazilas.

On the other hand, the number of Covid-19 cases climbed to 4,817 as 19 more people were detected positive after testing 127 samples during the last 24 hours in the district while the infection rate is 14.96 percent, Civil Surgeon Office sources confirmed.
Among the newly detected patients, 12 persons are from Sadar upazila, two from Shibganj, three from Gomostapur, one from Nachole and another from Bholahat upazilas.

Of the total detected patients of the district, 2,661 are from Sadar upazila, 843 from Shibganj upazila, 630 from Gomostapur upazila, 365 from Nachole upazila and 318 from Bholahat upazila.

At present, there are 381 Covid-affected patients in the district and of them, 47 are undergoing treatment in dedicated Covid hospital and others at home.

Meanwhile, 4,299 patients have recovered from the disease here, the sources added.
