PANCHAGARH, June29, 2022(BSS) - Two unions under Debiganj upazila of the district were inundated today due to heavy rainfall and onrush of water from the upstream hills.

The water has been increasing in Karatoa River gradually. Some 100 families near the river have been marooned under water.  Low lying areas of Debiganj and Sonahar union were also inundated.  

Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) of Debiganj Upazila Golam Ferdous said that the flood water has entered into the low lying areas of the upazila. In the afternoon, the UNO visited the flood affected areas and distributed dry foods including 10 kilograms of rice.

Upazila Project Implemention Officer (PIO) Md Momin Hossain, along with local elites, was present during the relief distribution programme.
