CHAPAINAWABGANJ, July 23, 2021 (BSS)- A number of 14 more persons tested positive for Covid-19 during the last 24 hours, raising the total number to 4,759 in the district.

   During the last 24 hours, 96 samples were tested in the district showing the infection rate 14.89 percent, Civil Surgeon Office sources confirmed.

   Among the newly detected patients, one person is from Shibganj upazila, one from Gomostapur upazila, one from Nachole upazila and 11 persons are from Bholahat upazila.

   Of the total detected patients of the district, 2,640 persons are from sadar upazila, 820 from Shibganj upazila, 620 from Gomostapur upazila, 363 from Nachole upazila and 316 from Bholahat upazila.

   A total of 490 patients are undergoing treatment in the district. Of them, 46 patients are getting treatment in dedicated Covid hospital and others at home.

   Meanwhile, 131 patients have died of COVID-19 and 4,138 patients have recovered from the disease here, the sources added.
