NARAYANGANJ, June 20, 2022 (BSS) - A court here today sentenced two people to life term imprisonment for killing a man of Fatullah in
Sadar upazila of the district in 2019.
Additional District and Sessions Judge Sabina Yasmin delivered the verdict this afternoon.
The convicted were identified as Mohammad Ali and Mohammad Faisal.
Additional Public Prosecutor Advocate Jasmine Ahmed confirmed the matter.
According to the details of the case, Selim Chowdhury went to the accused to get loan amounting of Taka 200,000 on March 31, 2019. To embezzle the money, the accused killed him in a planned manner, tied his hands and feet and buried his body in a sack in the godown of the accused.
The victim's wife Rehna Akhter filed a murder case against the four accused.
After 11 days of the incident, police recovered the body from the spot.
After investigating the case, the police filed a report in the court accusing the four.
The court pronounced the verdict today after examining 11 witnesses and the court sentenced two people to life imprisonment and acquitted the other two accused and Ali Hossain in the case.
