RAJSHAHI, June 15, 2022 (BSS)- The present government under the dynamic and
farsighted leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been working
relentlessly for the development of women and children.
 
Taking the issue of women and children development importance to the nation-
building process into special consideration, the government has adopted
diversified programmes so that the womenfolk can contribute to take the
nation forward spontaneously.

Informative experts and other stakeholders came up with the observation while
addressing an orientation workshop for the members of civil society at Master
Chef Restaurant in the city today.
 
District Information Office (DIO) organised the meeting under its project
titled "Awareness Communication Programme for Children and Women Development"
discussing and devising ways and means on how to attain the cherished goal.
 
Director General of the Department of Mass Communication Jasim Uddin
addressed the meeting as the chief guest with DIO Director Farhad Hossain in
the chair.
 
Civil Surgeon Dr Abu Sayeed Faruque, Deputy Director of the Department of
Family Planning Dr Kustory Amina Queen, Deputy Director of the Department of
Environment Mahmuda Parveen and local unit chairman of Jatiya Mohila Sangstha
Morjina Parveen spoke on the occasion.

Information Officer Muhammad Towhiduzzaman and DIO Deputy Director Nafeyala
Nasrin also spoke.
 
Terming the present government as women-friendly, Jasim Uddin said the
government has attached top priority for women development.
 
He put emphasis on both men-women equal participation for achieving the
Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030 coupled with building a
developed and prosperous Bangladesh by 2041.

Jasim Uddin called for a concerted effort of all the government and non-
government organisations concerned for freeing the women and children from
all sorts of violence and repression.
 
Utmost emphasis should be given on physical and mental development of the
children, he added.
