
RANGPUR, June 4, 2022 (BSS) - Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-13 arrested three alleged fraudsters on allegations of realizing huge money by providing fake visas to overseas job-seekers from Deuti Bazar area in Pirgachha upazila of the district on Thursday night.
"Based on an allegation submitted by a victim Md. Rafik, 35, the Crime Prevention Specialized Company (CPSC) of RAB-13 conducted a shadow investigation, found the truth and arrested the three men from the spot," a press release said last night.
During the raid, the elite force also seized copies of some fake visas, passports, ATM Cards and four mobile phone sets from the possessions of the arrested persons.
The arrested cheats were identified as Md. Rafikul Islam, 34, Md. Saidur Rahman, 36, and Md. Samiul Islam, 21, of Pirgachha upazila in Rangpur district.
During interrogation, the arrested persons admitted their involvement in cheating common people in connivance with their other cohorts for a long time.
"Victim Md. Rafik of village Kishamat in Pirgachha upazila filed a case against the arrested persons with Pirgachha police station. The elite force handed over the arrested persons to Pirgachha police station," the release added.
