RANGPUR, April 3, 2022 (BSS) - Some 2,000 poor and distressed families of Barobeel union in Gangachara upazila of the district today received food assistance from the Prime Minister's Relief Fund.
 
The Gangachara upazila administration organised an informal function for distribution of the foodstuffs at Barobeel union parishad premises abiding by health directives in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic.
 
Each of the beneficiary families received 10 kilograms of miniket rice, one liter of soybean oil, one kilogram each of salt, lentil and sugar, 200 grams of powdered turmeric, 100 grams pepper and 100 grams of powdered coriander packed in a sac. 
 
President of Gangachara Upazila Awami League (AL) and Gangachara Upazila Chairman Md. Ruhul Amin distributed the foodstuffs packed in a sac among the selected beneficiary families as the chief guest.
 
Presided over by Gangachara Upazila Nirbahi Officer Ershad Uddin, Upazila Vice-chairmen Shaju Mian Lal and Rabeya Begum, General Secretary of Upazila Awami League Md. Azizul Islam and Barobeel Union Parisahd Chairman Shaheed Chowdhury Deep attended the function.
